This month our Real Bride Spotlight is on Vicki’s Bride Gemma and this wedding struck a real cord as Gemma got married at Hannah’s wedding venue. Also, a place that is close to our hearts as a family. Fun Family fact; the Cobble exhibit at Kent Life is our Grandads shop and if you look closely you will see a photo of Hannah on her wedding day on the shelf at the back. But back to Gemma…

How did your partner propose?

We had arranged a camping trip with family, but Dan had arranged a little cottage in Petersfield for just us for a few days beforehand. He told me we were going for dinner and what time to be ready by. Before we left, he set a camera up and told me it was on a timer so we can both take a photo together with the view of mountains behind us. I didn't realise he actually pressed record, and he then got down on one knee.

What a sneaky squirrel! That video will be something you treasure forever.

When and Where did you get married?

6th April at Kent Life, Maidstone, Kent

Such a fab venue and so much fun. Honestly excitement when Hannah saw your venue.

What colour/ theme did you go for?

We went for navy blue and burnt Orange, and we went for a farm/Boho style wedding.

Perfect for Kent Life.

Tell us one bit of advice for couples planning a wedding?

If it feels right, do it! Also, it goes so fast, when I went into the room before we took our steps down the aisle I paused and took it all in for a minute.

Absolutely love that advice!

Now the fun bit, Shopping for your dress... Tell us about it?!

I knew what style dress I wanted, my mum found Vicki's in my favourite town of Tenterden. It was funny because as we drove past to head towards the car park, I looked at the dress in the window and I immediately knew that was the one for me.

Tell us your favourite highlight from your Big Day.

Very hard question. Seeing my stepdad's face when he saw me and my two girls was beautiful.  Also, when I walked in the room and seeing Dan was my best highlight for me. Dan would say the band and food, I reckon! Typical.

Your favourite photo from your big day - professional or moment captured by a guest...

I think we can all agree that Gemma and Dan look like they had the most amazing day, and she looks stunning in Iris by Kelsey Rose. We are a big fan of the converse addition to her bridal look!! Gemma knew her style from the moment she arrived at Vicki's Bridal Boutique, and she owned it the whole way through the process. Your day, your bridal style!!

styled shoot with disco balls

This month we are chatting the wonderful team at The Little Wedding Warehouse as our supplier of the month. We have had the pleasure of working with them on countless shoots, including our favourite to date 'The Disco and Daisies' shoot. So here they are to talk a bit about what they can bring to the table. Excuse the Pun!! 😉

Tell us about you and your business

We are Roxanne and Eddie, a husband and wife team, we own The Little Wedding Warehouse, a furniture and prop hire company for weddings.

Owners Roxy & Ed sitting on a chair

What made you decide to start The Little Wedding Warehouse?

We were planning our own wedding in 2017, and we could not find a company in Kent who hired out the style of furniture we wanted. We realised that if we wanted it, other people must want it too, so we sourced and built lots for our wedding and didn't want it to end once our day was over. And the rest is history!

Large wooden moon with flowers

What’s been your favourite wedding so far and why?

It's so difficult to pick - we work with lots of wonderful couples!

One that I'll never forget was Abi & Ben in 2022, Abi really wanted our giant wooden moon, but they didn't have room in their budget. Ben got in touch separately and added it to their order but asked us to keep it as a surprise. We turned up on the day with the moon & Abi screamed & jumped into Ben's arms - it was so, so lovely! Our giant moon was once an idea in my head, that Eddie then built by hand - for it to then be loved by our couples, it really warms our hearts.

Omg we love that! What services do you offer?

We offer dry hire of our wide inventory of furniture and props. For anything we don't have, we are happy to look into sourcing or designing and building something bespoke - Rox LOVES shopping & Ed loves building!

We would say that is the perfect combo! What can couples expect from you as apart of their wedding?

Unique items for hire that will help transform their wedding day, guidance on what items work well together, bespoke builds, flexible hire periods and disco balls galore!

We are a big fan of the disco balls!! Lastly but most importantly what's best way for couples to contact you?

Visit our website and fill in our contact form, or if you already know some items you'd like to hire, add it to your wishlist & we can go from there!

We just love the way that Roxy and Eddie give couples the ability to make their wedding venue their own. And we just love working with them, whether that be on shots, wedding fairs or on our own events.
