This week we are shining the spotlight on Nieve Couture, our designer that offers you a little bit of everything.

Poppy by Nieve Couture

Nieve Couture sits under the loving umbrella of Richard Designs, which is a British family run company which started in the 1980’s and strongly regarded within the Bridal Industry. A company that originally started as a bridal florist quickly developed into headpieces and veils. And within the following decades they were offering all things bridal.

Nieve Couture was established in 2016 to fill the need for an ‘eclectic, couture, high-end collection at accessible prices.’ Offering everything from Bridal, to Bridesmaids, to Flower Girl and Mother-of-the-Bride. Nieve allows brides and their bridal parties to get the desired look on a smaller budget. By having their own factory not only can the prices be more affordable but they can work quickly for brides with a short time frame offering a rush cut as little as 4 weeks, as well as design changes to make your dress perfect for you.

We love the variety that Nieve offers; myself and Megan have very different styles and with Nieve we are really able to show this. For those who know us you will definitely be able to see who picked what dress!! Maybe that could be a game on our @vickisbride instagram page?!

When it comes to Nieve’s Accessories we love the fact that these are all handmade in the UK and that we are able to add them as last minute additions, when our bride suddenly decides they need a veil, belt or hair accessories to complete their look.

As with all our designers when we first met with Nieve it just clicked and the dresses spoke for themselves. We love the passion that Nieve shares with us in making sure we can offer our brides nothing but the best and we hope you can feel that too.

So first up in the Spotlight series is our newest addition to Vicki’s family…Ellis Bridals. When setting up our boutique, Ellis Bridals was actually the first designer we came across, and we instantly fell in love with the dresses and their history.

The Ada Dress - in honour of Ada Ellis - https://ellisbridals.co.uk/

Ellis is quintessentially British, founded over 100 years ago by Ada Ellis and is currently in its 4th generation, with Ada’s great-grandson James Ellis at the reins.

Ada honed her talent creating dresses for the wealthy ladies of London but it was on her own wedding day in January 1910 when the very first Ellis dress took centre stage. From that day, Ellis Bridals was born, with the demand for one of her elegant designs growing fast. Cementing Ellis’s place in the forefront of British Bridal. In the 1960’s Ada opened her central London Atelier, and are still London based now. The history and story of Ada Ellis hold so many parallels to the life of our grandma Vicki, who our boutique is named after, which really struck a chord with us.

Even now, when we meet the Ellis team in their London studio, you feel the sense of family and the fact that the ‘family bond is what has kept the heart of Ellis in London’. We love the fact that the passion of Ellis Bridals doesn’t just come from James Ellis but every member of their team, every stockist and every bride that wears Ellis.

And as Ellis Bridals enters a new era we can see the designs move on offering a modern twist of the classic Ellis style we know and love. Delivering each of their brides the unique and stylish look they deserve. I will end this Spotlight with a quote from James Ellis which will hopefully sum-up the essence of Ellis Bridals

‘Ellis has dressed thousands of Brides over the last 109 years, the happiness this has gifted these women is what drives my passion.’ James Ellis.

Over the next couple of week we are going to be doing a spotlight series, each week shinning a light on each of our fabulous designers.

We are so proud to have the privilege to stock all our designers, and we just want to share with you why we love them so much and a little on their history. All our designers are British and have an amazing team behind them, bringing you the best of British design for your wedding day. From Classic Bridal to Boho to Vintage Tea Length and that is just the dresses, we can’t forget our hand made veils and gorgeous shoes to complete your bridal look.

So over the next couple of weeks look out for the story behind, Ellis Bridals, Kelsey Rose, House of Mooshki, Nieve Couture, Tulle and Flo and The Perfect Bridal Company. We always believe it is so important to choose wedding vendors that you get a good vibe from, and we don’t think that should be any different when it comes to finding your dress. After all that is how we choose the designers to offer to our brides.

So if anything you read over the next couple of weeks about our designers sparks some excitement, head over to Our Collection to check out each of our designers we have in our boutique in The Jewel of the Weald, Tenterden, Kent.
