This week we are shinning the light on our gorgeous Boho designer Kelsey Rose. For those of you that don’t know, Kelsey Rose is the sister of Ellis Bridals but with a more relaxed, laid back vibe.

Thea by Kelsey Rose 2023 Collection

Kelsey Rose was launched in the 1980s, based in their London Studio, where they see the whole design process from sketch to dress, creating the ultimate cool-girl look. In Kelsey Rose’s own words:

‘We are a small team with big ideas and we put every ounce of passion into creating contemporary and exciting collections that we believe in. Our bride is our inspiration, designing for the modern bride who dances to the beat of her own drum.’

At Vicki’s we love the fact that Kelsey Rose allows our brides to create their own look whether it be going to for a real Boho vibe or something a little more classic. And with the lower price points, they can really go to town with adding those personal touches. Whilst being able to enjoy their big day from start to finish without feeling restricted.

The whole team have so much love and passion that go into each of their collections and love seeing those real bride snaps, where they hard work and magic really comes to life. Kelsey Rose was the first Designer we secured when setting up Vicki’s and we just fell in love the moment we saw them… and with each year comes a new collection and with each new collection we say … ‘Can you please stop designing so many gorgeous dresses (and two-pieces!)’

Flora Top by Kelsey Rose 2023 Collection

Back in June this year, the lovely Gaynor from Coombe Farm got in touch with us to see if we wanted to organise a styled shoot at her Farm, which she is opening up as a venue for 2023 couple onwards. Now to say this is a beautiful backdrop for any wedding would an understatement! We would quite like to go on holiday there, even if it is 5 minutes down the road.

So after a couple of months of planning and gathering our very talented team together, sending out mood boards and choosing which dresses we were taking, we finally reached the 3rd August, shoot day. The sun was shining, the sky blue, the sheep were very inquisitive and we were all ready to bring our vision to life.

First in was hair and make-up by Laura from @versastyleby_laura and Sarah from @makeupbysarahbennett setting up in the cabin ready to work they magic on our gorgeous models Ruby and Danielle. Whilst outside under the gorgeous willow tree, @blueskybunting were busy setting up a bridal picnic, with hums of pastel pink ready to be injected with bright summer flowers from @flowercraftworkshop. Meanwhile, in the main field where Bride and Grooms would have their marque or teepee we were getting creative with @hirelove_uk to create the perfect rustic table, with the place setting to finish the look off from @loveteadesigns. As well as creating a cosy corner with shades of green to blend into the surrounding, perfect for taking those 5 minutes to take in your big day, also a great place to display the gorgeous cake decorated with sugar flowers by @clairdelunecakedesign. And our last finishing touch was a gorgeous faux flower arch created by @cosmos_and_fern, which perfectly framed the view of the church in the distant.

With our two looks set up and looking fab, it was time for @tomjeavons to work his magic, getting all those perfect product shots for our team to use to showcase all their hard work. The loveliest thing with this shoot was that everyone was helping each other and really hands on working as a team to create the best content possible for all involved.

After a spot of lunch and small break from the rather warm sunshine, we were ready to introduce the models, Ruby and our couple models Danielle and Luke. The girls modelled a selection of our gorgeous dresses whilst @wudtenterden made sure Luke was looking damper supplying suits for us. We turned to the shepherds' hut where a couple can spend their first night as a married couple into a dressing room, which I must say was filled up quite quickly by the dresses.

The whole day was full of smiles and laughter and we were so proud to be working with all involved. And the most important thing to us was that Gaynor was happy, as she had put her faith in us to show off her beautiful venue, giving us free rein. We are pretty sure she was as she walked round all day making sure everyone was okay with the biggest smile on her face.

This was my first styled shoot as these are very much Megan’s area but I loved every minute, though I’m pretty sure Megan was quite relieved when it was all wrapped up and we were sat sharing a glass of wine with Gaynor on the cabin balcony looking out over the beautiful place Gaynor calls home.

This week we are shining the spotlight on a very talented veil designer and creator, Tulle & Flo owned by the lovely Claire Buckley.

In Bloom by Tulle & Flo

Claire contacted us when we first started setting up the shop on social media and after a few DM’s back and forth we knew that we had to get her on board. With the bespoke nature of Tulle & Flo we just loved the fact that she was here to give all brides something that was a little bit unique, a little bit personal and a little bit them!!

Like us, Claire’s inspiration came from her Nana, who taught her to sew from the age of 5, where they used to work on dance costumes together. Teaching her everything she knows about designing and sewing.

For the past 11 years, Claire has been working as a fellow bridal stylist helping brides find their dream dress and then helps bring a bride's vision to life with the perfect bespoke veil. She is surrounded by love and weddings all day every day and she loves it!! Just ask her?!

She started Tulle & Flo after many years as a bridal stylist, she felt like there was something lacking in the veil department and she just knew she could bring the quality and luxury that every bride deserves.

The name is a mix of the fabric she works with and her childhood nickname (Flossy). And very much like us here at Vicki’s it is a family affair, with her soon-to-be hubby making sure all the gorgeous veils get posted out, as well as helping her cut out the yards of tulle ready for her to work her magic.

Romy by Tulle & Flo

Claire lovingly creates each and everyone of her veils by hand in her studio in Yorkshire, ‘no pre beaded or stiff tulles, just modern opulence and genuine time and care is spent on every single veil’ that passes through her studio. All the Tulle & Flo veils that you find in our boutique are proof of that, designed to enhance our collections.

I can honestly say that the excitement you feel when you pick one of our Tulle & Flo veils whether that be the same as our sample or the bespoke version, we all share it! Myself, Megan and Claire! She always gets a little ‘Yay!’ DM. The 3 of us love helping you bring your version to life and nothing is too bold!!

To see our Tulle & Flo collection, head over to our collection page https://www.vickisbride.co.uk/tulle-flo-veils-1 or see them in person at our boutique in Tenterden, Kent. My personal favourite is Romy, it’s a running joke you can’t have an appointment with me without it been put on your head!! Just ask Megan! What’s your favourite? Also, don’t forget to check out Tulle & Flo’s Instagram page …..to see what magic she is creating. https://www.instagram.com/tulleandflobridal/?hl=en
