Real Bride: Ashley 🌹

We had the honour of having Ashley Russell come and visit us all the way Canada when she was visiting her family for Christmas. We had been in touch with her a couple of months prior, after she had found her dress on the House of Mooshki website - Valentine!

Being her Mum’s closest stockist, she got in touch to see if we had her. As she isn’t a dress we stock, we were able to organise a box loan to get her in. We love getting a loan box and getting to play with new dresses. And this particular dress was no exception!!

So December came along with our big box of Mooshki dresses and, pride of place was Valentine. It was safe to say that when Ashley arrived with her Mum and Dad, Valentine was everything she imagined her to be. But we of course played the game and tried a range of different styles and designers and although one other Mooshki did come close, as soon as she put Valentine back on that was it. She was the one!

Now Ashley's time frame was small and made shorter by the fact she had to get it to Canada with enough time for any alterations to be done. But working with Mooshki and a very nervous Mother-of-the-bride Ashley received her Valentine on Valentines Day, have you ever heard anything more poetic? We love being able to see our brides in THEIR dress and we get all the same motions of excitement and nerves! On the evening of the 15th February, we received a fabulous selfie of an over the moon Ashley in her dress. Along with words that every boutique own wants to hear;

“I am so appreciative to you, Hannah, Megan, and House of Mooshki for making this come together. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!! ”

Ashley teamed the dress with our Vicki Veil (minus the bow) by Tulle and Flo which complimented the

1950’s style of the dress perfectly. She also wore a gorgeous pair of red shoes to match the red of the roses not just in the bouquet but on her dress!!!

Are you a 2023 Bride?

Are you a 2023 bride? Have you got your dress? Have you even started shopping for your dress? …. If you answered these questions with the following ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘No’ it’s time to put dress shopping to the top of your wedding to-do list.

When it comes to dress shopping, like anything to do with weddings really the more time you have the less stress you have. At Vicki’s our lead times are quite short but you are still looking at anything between 12-16 weeks and you then want to allow alterations once your dress has arrived. With your big day being next year it is never too early to get your dream dress but I can be too late.

If like many brides you are losing weight then dresses can be taken in and you need to be realistic with only a year to go, how much you are going to lose before using it as a reason to put off shopping. If you love yourself in a dress just as you are, then imagine how amazing you feel when you love yourself?

Or if you're just not a fan of shopping and this is an experience you're dreading, then leaving it to the last minute is not the answer. If anything, getting it ticked off first means you can enjoy the rest of your planning more, especially when you realise it’s not that scary after all.

At Vicki’s we will always do all we can to help you find your dream dress and show you that shopping for your dress can be a fun and relaxed experience. At your appointment with us, you are in charge and we follow your lead. If you are working with a tighter time frame, then we will do all we can to get you THE dress.
